Kampot Pepper
The name Kampot pepper comes from a province in southern Cambodia. The main cultivation and production facilities for these peppers are located in Kampot province and the surrounding area of Kep province Dâmrei at the foot of the mountains, where the warm humid climate, the geographical altitude, the proximity of the sea and the quartz-rich soil create perfect farming conditions. Pepper creepers Piper Nigrum simply thrive in this environment, which is what gives the spice its special flavour and aroma. The source of all Kampot peppercorns is the tropical pepper bush Piper Nigrum from the pepper family.
